Hi, I’m Amelia

I’m a Trini born Canadian that’s currently working in Trinidad… something like that. Here’s what you should know about me: I’m always up for an adventure, especially when it’s a food adventure…those are the best kind!

I enjoy cooking, in fact….I enjoy cooking more than working but shhhhhh…. that’s just between you and me.

I’m a big fan of the “extended” coffee break, yep…I take many of those (also shhhhhh…..) and I’ve got a sweet tooth. Definitely got a sweet tooth. When I’m at home and the craving hits, I’ll open up my pantry and whip up some cookies, or a quick cake. Side note…I always keep butter in the fridge…cuz you never know when you’re gonna wanna bake some scones….you never know.

I’m a big bread fan too. In fact, I’ve worked with an International Bread Chain to develop recipes for their new products. There really is nothing better than freshly made bread, hot out of the oven with a slather of butter and some good cheese. That being said, you’re gonna find quite a few bread and dough recipes on here….cuz that’s how I roll ….dinner roll!

Oh….and I’ve got a Sourdough Starter of my very own….and yes….she’s got a name….Shirley.

I do like cooking and baking that’s for sure and I believe meals shouldn’t be too complicated. I go by the motto “If I can do this…you can do it too!” because food shouldn’t be too fussy, it should be fantastic!

I eat out as well, so you’re gonna find a sprinkle of my “dining out” food adventures on here as well. And I don’t just do dinner, I do lunch, brunch, breakfast and snacks too!

Here’s a Fun Fact: I’ve got a sandwich named after me. In Trinidad there’s a restaurant that serves “The Amelia”, a fried chicken sandwich that’s named after yours truly. Travel and food inspires me and I’m happy and humbled to be have been the inspiration for something that’s so delicious.
