What I like about this joint is that you can nestle in and order yourself a Cerveza with your Carnita Tacos. Or order the Perla Negra handcrafted cocktail (Mezcal, St Germain, Coconut Emulsion, Lime, Charcoal, EggWhite) with a meal of Salmon en Pipian (Wild Salmon in Pumpkin Seed Sauce). Whichever way you like it…Casual or Sophisticated…Fonda Lola does both and, they do it well.

Some Notables:

?The Guac– Fresh, Creamy and Seasoned just right  topped with fresh chopped Tomatoes, Onions and Cilantro served with salted Chips.

?The Pesca del Dia Burrito – Corn Dusted Basa Fish with Chipolte Aioli, Rice, Beans, Greens, Guac, Pico de Gallo and Crema all wrapped up like a newborn in a soft Flour Tortilla blanket.

?Try the Enchiladas with Hibiscus Flowers – Cotija Cheese, Caramelized Onions, Corn Tortillas and Guajillo Pepper in Sauce.
The star ingredient (Hibiscus), is cooked 2 ways:
-Stewed, with a chewy texture and sweet flavour.
-Fried with a crispy exterior and tart flavour.
Combined with other ingredients it’s a pretty memorable dish.

For Dessert:

Beso de guava. (Deep Fried Guava and Cheese Pastry) served with Whipped Cream and Fresh Mint Leaves.

?Artisinal IceCream made in house (Rose, Avocado, Corn).
?Try the Corn IceCream. It’s quite unique with bits of kernel giving it an interesting texture and, a sweet creamy flavour.

Artisanal Cocktails

✔The cocktails are phenomenal, and the tequila served is the good stuff- 100% Agave is what you’ll find here.
Some of my favourites:
The Macho Man – A Bourbon Drink that’s Smokin’…literally.
-Clericot – Fonda Lola’s take on a Sangria.
-Cazuelita – A Citrus based Tequila drink with a hint of spice.

Notes

✔ They serve Lunch, Dinner and Brunch on the weekends.
✔ Patio available.

Verdict

…It’s an experience that’s simply Deliciosa.
